CATCH Corner

August 24th, 2009 by rpoore

During this school year Pleasantville will be implementing a new program called CATCH.  CATCH (Coordinated Approach To Child Health) is a TEA approved Coordinated School Health Program designed to promote physical activity, healthy food choices, and prevent tobacco use in elementary school aged children. By teaching children that eating healthy and being physically active every day can be FUN, the CATCH Program has proved that establishing healthy habits in childhood can promote behavior change that carry into adulthood.  We are looking forward to the benefits this program will provide for your student and our school.

As We Begin a New Year

August 17th, 2009 by rpoore

As we begin a new year here at Pleasantville Elementary School the Physical Education department would like to take a moment to say “Welcome Back.”  We hope that you had a healthy, active and exciting summer.  Mr. Vignola and Mr. Poore are back and excited for the start of the new  year.

As a quick reminder we wanted to reiterate that it is important for our students to be prepared for P.E. (Physical Education).   This means sneakers when possible.  Students may not have open toed shoes or shoes with a heel.  Thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you soon.
